KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Assists with activities of daily living
- Participating in resident assessments
- Preparing internal reports
- Counseling residents individually and/or in a group setting
- Carrying out regular, planned programs and activities
- Providing educational support services as necessary
- Monitors interaction between individual residents and intervene if issues arise
- Teaching social and life skills through interaction and modeling
- Completing logs and incident reports as required
- Administer medications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES :
- The successful candidate will have completed a College/University program in human services or a related field
- Familiar with Autism spectrum disorders and other developmental delays
- Strong behaviour management skills
- At least 1 year children/youth experience in a residential treatment (group home) setting for children and young adults with emotional, physical, social, behavioural challenges and/or dual diagnosed youths
- The candidate must be able to utilize excellent decision making skills and be able to effectively solve problems
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Strong ability to build productive and supportive relationships with staff and residents
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum Education: Bachelor’s, College diploma or certificate
- Minimum Experience: 1 year of experience working in a group home
- Requirements: G-Class Driver’s License, First Aid certification and Non -Violent Crisis Intervention training.
Job Type: Contract
Salary: $18.04 /hour
