KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participating in resident assessments
- Preparing internal reports
- Counseling residents individually and/or in a group setting
- Carrying out regular, planned programs and activities
- Providing educational support services as necessary
- Monitors interaction between individual residents and intervene if issues arise
- Teaching social and life skills through interaction and modelling
- Completing logs and incident reports as required
- Administer medications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- The successful candidate is currently enrolled OR has graduated from a College/University program in a human services or related field
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Experience in working with children and young adults with emotional, physical, social, behavioural challenges, and/or dual diagnosed youth would be an asset
- The candidate must be able to utilize excellent decision making skills and be able to effectively solve problems
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Strong ability to build productive and supportive relationships with both staff and residents
- G-Class Driver’s License
- Must be available evenings and weekends
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum education: Diploma/Certificate
- Required experience: Children/Youth: 1 year
- Required license or certification: Valid G-class
Job Type: Contract
Salary: $17.10 /hour
